Plan before rendering

Google said Gemini Notebook now offers a guided creation flow for Slide Decks and Video Overviews. After a user requests slides or a video in chat, Notebook can suggest topics based on the notebook’s sources; the user can then confirm the direction and guide content, visual style and format.

The company said users who already know what they want can state it in their prompt and move directly to the review flow.

Review notes and feedback

A new Review toggle lets users inspect a plan before rendering. In the studio panel, slide projects offer “Review outline notes,” while video projects offer “Review producer notes.”

Google said users can provide further feedback at this stage, including asking for an executive summary at the beginning or changing a scene’s order. Selecting “Proceed” produces the final artifact.

Quick generation remains

Users who prefer not to review a plan can skip the Review toggle in the studio panel and generate artifacts as usual, Google said.

The co-creation capabilities were scheduled to roll out globally to all Gemini Notebook users during the week following Google’s October 19, 2026 announcement. Google also published walkthroughs for slide and video co-creation; these are company demonstrations rather than independent testing.

Reader takeaway

The change gives Gemini Notebook users a source-based planning checkpoint before slides or videos render, while retaining a faster generation path. Google said the rollout is global for all Gemini Notebook users over the following week.
